Lawley at the Parish Church in the Parish of St. Anne, Westminster, Middlesex. With a list of those present (including Jane C. Lovelace; [Lord] Wharncliffe; George Hamilton; L[ionel] King Noel; W. H. Pollen; Robert Browning; Edward J. Poynter; J[ohn] H[ungerford] Pollen; A. J. Ross, D.D.; Archibald Stuart Wortley); and the signature the parish rector, Nugent Wade. (printed stationery) : laid into Pforzhimer copy 2 of Lady Byron's Remarks Occasioned by Mr. Moore's Notices of Lord Byron's Life; presenting the pamphlet to Lampson, explaining that "by some accident" it had never been sent to the Duchess of Northumberland as intended. · To George Scharf, artist and gallery director : 1 autograph letter signed "Ralph G. N. King" : 26 Jun [1854] : from 40 Montague Square : begins, "Grandmamma desired me to tell you that she is extremely obliged to you for your letter. As you were so kind as to give the choice of the time for my lessons, perhaps you would give them on Tuesday and Thursday at ¹/₂ past 10 O'clock."

The English draftsman, illustrator and art historian George Scharf was the son of the homonymous German-born artist settled in London in 1816. In 1840 and 1843 he travelled as official artist with a government expedition to Asia Minor. In 1857 Scharf became art secretary for the Manchester Art Treasures exhibition, and was appointed secretary to the newly founded National Portrait Gallery, becoming its director in 1882.
